The film unveils the ongoing agony of Athens—a city scarred by economic strife and a relentless refugee crisis. Hidden from the limelight, Athens harbours unseen sorrows and deeper troubles than most realize or acknowledge. My focus was to capture the city's decline: the crumbling social fabric, failing infrastructure, and the weary population. These elements are the contemporary ruins of Athens, where the decaying urban scene mirrors the slow erosion of society. The city's inhabitants and structures are indistinguishable, marred and defaced.I adopted a direct observation approach, becoming a sensory seeker, gathering raw snapshots of life during nocturnal excursions through the city. My journey begins under the cloak of night and ends at dawn's first light—an ironic bike ride symbolizing innocence and a passage through darkness. The film's form is designed to evoke unease, mirroring the inescapable distress of the situation and shaping it into a ghostly tale of the present.
